2016 Sound Heart Conference Theme: “The Return of Knowledge”

This year’s conference will dedicate one lecture to a great scholar of each century who was noted for his great contribution to knowledge and the entire ummah of his time, as well as the generations to come. The contribution of this scholar goes as far as having him considered by the people of his time and those to come as one of the great revivers promised to us by the Messenger salAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam.

As we take the audience on a journey through the life of the final religion of their Creator, they will be afforded the rare benefit of learning about the rich history of Islam – a subject rarely taught and even more scarcely learned nowadays. The guests of the conference will also learn about the great and noble but often forgotten scholars of the past. Through this conference, the legacy of many of our predecessors will be revived to its listeners.

In an age and society where hastiness and impatience are considered virtues, and the concept of hard work and perseverance has become a mere notion of ancient times, how is this generation to learn the true meaning of verses such as,

“March forth, whether you are light (being healthy, young and wealthy) or heavy (being ill, old and poor), strive hard with your wealth and your lives in the Cause of Allah. This is better for you, if you but knew.” Tawbah 9:41

“And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives

And that his effort is going to be seen –

Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense

And that to your Lord is the finality.” Najm 53:39-42

“…so for this let the competitors compete.” Mutaffifeen 83:62

The true importance, beauty and honor of knowledge is not truly understood by the majority of our ummah today. It was the understanding of the true power of knowledge and the great status of it that granted these great and noble believers the status that they gained. Through this conference we hope to understand and appreciate the statement of Allah ta’ala,

“…It is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allah.” Fatir 35:28

It is in the history of our people -those whom Allah granted honor through this religion and through their striving for knowledge- that these answers may be found. Who better to teach us the true implementation of the Qur’an and Sunnah, and the true meaning of striving for the cause of Allah, than the scholars of our Ummah?

Join us for this year’s 5th annual Sound Heart Conference as we journey through the lives of our noble predecessors, reviving and retelling their lives, their struggles, their sacrifices and their ultimate glory – the true fruit of sincerity and hard work.
